A tier 1 Investment Bank are expanding their Equity Risk team and are now seeking a Senior Java Developer to join the team. This a highly cohesive Front Office development with major market making and eTrading functions, using innovative techniques and the latest technologies to have a direct impact upon the business.
The team uses the latest Quant library to develop a compute grid for Equity Derivative desks globally. This breeds a fast-paced Agile development process with the development of high-quality software.

Recently the organisation has seen significant growth, with a Autonet online and van insurance specialist acquiring two major insurers into its group the organisation are growing rapidly
To support this there is a unique opportunity for a practically minded and commercially focussed solicitor to take on a new role within a an innovative business.
Structure of the Role:
  • This is a role for an in-house solicitor to work alongside the Senior Legal Counsel for Insurance Broking, which is the largest division within the Group, employing around 4000 people across the UK.
  • The role forms part of the COO and broking division, however The Group has a dedicated legal team for specialist legal matters, such as litigation and employment, which will support this dedicated role.
  • The role will require direct contact with clients around the business, allowing the successful candidate to build strong relationships.
  • The role will require the successful candidate to be able to work independently with reducing supervision, and to be confident enough to research and then recommend pragmatic, business-focused solutions.
  • The role can be based in Manchester, Norwich, Colchester, Maidstone or Bury St. Edmonds. Travel to London will be required from time to time, where the Senior Legal Counsel is based.
Purpose of the Role:
  • To work with the Senior Legal Counsel to provide general legal guidance, assistance and advice to the Insurance Broking division on a day-to-day basis.
  • Drafting, negotiating and amending a wide and varied range of commercial agreements, including IT, outsourcing, marketing agreements, insurance-specific commercial agreements such as panel distribution agreements and advising on contracts for public sector tenders. This will involve working closely with colleagues to drafting and negotiating contracts in line with the strategy and values of the organisation.
  • Providing day-to-day advice on wider commercial matters, including data protection and use of data within commercial arrangements.
  • Supporting the business in following the right legal contracting compliance procedures, to ensure effective contracting, procurement and negotiation.
  • Helping to develop and draft key standard documentation, including policies and precedents.
Criteria - must be clearly demonstrated on CV
  • Solicitor qualified in England and Wales, or an equivalent foreign jurisdiction qualification
  • 2-5 PQE
  • Trained at a reputable firm
  • Experience of reviewing and negotiating a range of commercial agreements
  • Some in-house experience is preferred but is not essential
  • Knowledge, attention to detail and the ability to work as part of a small highly skilled team is essential as the role will necessarily be broad and varied
  • Able to apply legal knowledge in a commercial context.
  • Able to manage stakeholders at all levels of the business
  • Able to prioritise work and to work well under pressure
  • Knowledge of Financial Services regulatory requirements (not essential but preferred)
  • Knowledge of GDPR and data handling requirements
  • Flexible and adaptable personal style with strong influencing and negotiation skills

Identity Management Virtual Directory Services Manager required for a major name in financial services. The Identity Management Virtual Directory Services Manager will fulfil a hands-on engineering role while managing Virtual Directory Services, within the wider Identity & Access Management team. The Identity Management Virtual Directory Services Manager will be a mentor to junior employees and act as an advocate for VDS and the broader IAM solutions to technical and business stakeholders.
The Identity Management Virtual Directory Services Manager support the design and future direction for directory and Virtual Directory technologies, Manage interactions between identity sources, target applications and VDS. They will also create and maintain the Disaster Recovery documents related to the VDS system. Maintain operational documentation, configuration information and other procedures.
The Identity Management Virtual Directory Services Manager will be a first class communicator both written and verbally, and come with the following technical skills :
  • Expert knowledge of identity management technologies.
  • Expert knowledge of and design experience with identity related Services, such as Virtual Directory/Radiant Logic, SSO, LDAP, Federation, LDIF, and Kerberos in a large customer facing corporate environment.
  • In-depth knowledge and design experience with an enterprise scale Active Directory environment.
  • Technical leadership to integrate different directory services.
  • Experience with directory design, performance analysis, monitoring and tuning as well as application performance characteristics and methods for optimization.
  • Windows and Unix Platform system administration experience.
  • Technical knowledge of various IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS cloud service authentication and authorization models.
  • Strong technical knowledge of TCP/IP principles and LAN technology and use of network capture utilities.
  • Excellent customer service and communication (oral / written) skills.
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills and ability to think "out of the box".
  • Experience leading projects and initiatives under minimum supervision.
